Join me on a 6-week exploration of Motifs!

What is a motif? It is the single most important thing that will make your work unique.

Some of you may wonder - what is a motif exactly? Basically it’s a shape that is dominant in your work. It’s a design that is either formed by putting multiple shapes together to make a new shape, or just creating a standalone shape that becomes recognizable in your work.

This is not a project workshop...

Meaning that you might not finish this workshop with "one" finished piece. This is an exploration.

However, you will complete this workshop with a bag full of tricks and tools that you can reach into when you start creating. Each week you will be provided with a new exercise, and most of the work will be done in between our live sessions. The results will vary for each of you. It is very important to me that you have the freedom to go where this process takes you. And having said that, some of you might end up with a few small finished pieces, but that is not the goal.

In this workshop, we will be exploring...

The history of motifs, and the significance in art and design.

The importance of value, scale and of course - color.

You will be provided with a simple roadmap on how to put your motifs into action. The best way to cement new knowledge is to start using it right away.

Here is a glimpse of some of the awesome work that was created in the last workshop.

Your experience is important to me...

My goal is for you to be prepared for this workshop, technically and otherwise. Therefore, I will be providing you with the following:

  • After registration, you may access pre-recorded lessons in this course. This includes a talk about fabric in regards to what you will need for this workshop. We will be using solid fabric in this workshop.

  • Access to a Private Community for this course.

  • Technical tips and advise to enhance your experience.

As an instructor, I am constantly evolving. I’ve identified areas that may need a little more attention. Often this is difficult in a workshop when you are focused on designing and creating a piece. And typically, I give a lot of info in my workshops. Therefore, I’ve made the decision to start segmenting some of this into bite-size pieces that can be more easily assimilated and deeply explored.

This is definitely a workshop for all levels, and even if you are comfortable improvising, you might enjoy focusing on developing your personal, recognizable style. That’s with this workshop is all about!

Refund Policy

  • Refund Policy

There are no refunds, however, if something urgent should arise prior to the start date, you will receive a credit that can be applied to a future virtual workshop. Once the Workshop begins, there are no credits or refunds for missing any or all of the sessions.

  • If you miss a day...

I understand that things may come up unexpectedly, and if you miss a class or a portion of one, a recording will be available later that day. All recordings will be available for one month after the completion of the course. So no worries, you won't miss anything!
